Museum of the South East — or MoSE — is an online collection of significant artefacts from the collections and museums of the Bega Valley, Eurobodalla and Snowy Monaro local government areas.
Each museum has been through a process of identifying their significant artefacts and MoSE provides an opportunity for these small museums to share their incredible collections with a wider audience.
Over time, more artefacts, collections and museums will be added to MoSE. You can explore MoSE through links to the specific museums, the categories of the collections or by using the search facility.
MoSE is a project of South East Arts, the regional arts development organisation for the south east corner of New South Wales. MoSE is proudly supported by the Vincent Fairfax Family Foundation in partnership with The Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal.
Enquiries about MoSE should be directed to South East Arts.
If you would like to support the work of South East Arts, which includes developments such as the next phase of MoSE, please visit our own website and make a donation – all donations $2 and over to the South East Arts Innovation Public Fund are tax deductible. We appreciate your support.
Angela George – Curator
Our curator, Angela George is a life-long resident of the Far South Coast. Angela has, among other “pieces of paper”, a Bachelor of Arts (History / English Literature) and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Science (Museum Studies). With around twenty-five years’ experience in the heritage management and interpretation industry, she has written and contributed to a number of local history publications and has worked with many of the museums in the south east on a fascinating array of projects. She describes herself as a bit of a history tragic.
Angela’s work on the MoSE website collection has been invaluable.
