Prue Acton Ski Suit

Ski suit designed as a “stepping out suit” by Australia’s golden girl of fashion Prue Acton OBE for the 1976 Australian Winter Olympic and World Cup Ski teams. The colours were chosen in an attempt to break away from the traditional green blazers sported by Olympians. However, when worn on the slopes, members were described as looking like something “between a crossword puzzle and a group of zebras”. This particular suit originally belonged to Australian Ski Federation (ASF) B Team member Gary Holt of Cooma and is listed on the Australian Dress Register.

It is part of the collection of the Thredbo Ski Museum.
